Almost
by Sylvia Rose
for encouragement
In a place where there is just the moment,
I’ve found that life can be almost overwhelming.
You make a simple mistake out of pure laziness and you find yourself too weak…
Too weak to handle the onslaught that is reality.
Your bones and muscles may be strong enough to hold off the tsunami,
But your heart and mind are no exception to the nature of that which surrounds you.
Try and contemplate any scenario that you might engage to escape from the bed that you have
made,
But you won’t get far from the grasp of the guilt that lurks in the back of you mind.
It’s faint, but there is a far off glimpse of what you’d consider light.
There, at the horizon, it’s the only object in your cluttered world of nonchalant happiness that is
completely clear.
That is what you’ve searched for, consuming years of your life as if they were just a mere
appetizer of an exquisite three course meal.
Your goal, at the far end of a field, located in a place where there is just the moment,
And you’ve found out for yourself that life is almost overwhelming.
