Life in the
Rain
by Sylvia Rose
It's nine thirty right now
Outside, it's dark and gloomy
Because rain is steady washing life away
At least it is a little chilly though
Giving you and your loved one time to think
And time to cuddle through the night
Rain keeps us moving too
Not many people like to get wet
So they rush on to wherever they are headed
There are few people that love the water
So they stand in the rain, for hours if they could
But when the rain leaves them, they become unhappy
The cooling wet droplets that the sky gives to us
Is the present that those rushing people resent
If the sky is displeased with them
It will give us thunder and lightning as well
Causing children to be scared at night as they lay in their beds
The children would eventually run to their parents room
And would be quickly held close and tight
Yes, the rain is steady washing life away
But it's also bringing life closer together
