Overwhelming by Sylvia Rose for Jenn and Heath
|
A bond as strong as iron wool
Their lives, single strands woven together
They crossed paths and noticed each other at first sight
Never really having sight of each other's physical being,
they went on with their lives, attempting to share them together
The two felt many emotions
They shared a few of these with others who they had met the same way
By doing this, these two had pulled together a family
And so happy this family was,
sharing laughter and smiles and even dark secrets that sometimes made them sad
Just like a normal family would
Just like best friends would
As these two grew, they made the very wise decision to see each other,
to meet in a big city
Again, just as before, they noticed each other at first sight
Only this time, they were able to embrace
The two have so much love for each other,
but only a small percentage was shown during their week-long 'getaway'
When the time came when they were forced to part
the two felt as if a part of themselves had been taken away from them
When really, it was only placed back where it was to begin with
They couldn't see, through their depressing sadness,
that what they had was still there, waiting to be embraced once more
Their blindness was the cause of arguments and disagreements
They both knew that they couldn't love each other any more than they already did
There was so much love, but it was always hidden, even when it was shouted aloud
Even though they don't speak now, they know, after finally seeing through the broken clouds,
that the love it still there, waiting to be embraced once more
The only thing keeping them away is the feeling of being hurt
The feeling of being unhappy
The courage inside isn't big enough yet
But the love between them knows that it will come
The love will wait for all eternity, to be embraced once more,
by those two people
So what they had, is still there,
and will always be there
Waiting for the time when it will finally be embraced,
by these two perfect lovers
by these two perfect friends
By my perfect parents.
